Converged 3GPP MCPTT communications for 21st century fire rescue services

This presentation focuses on how early digital technology needs to evolve for use in the 21st century to be able to communication effectively. The adoption of Broadband LTE via commercial grade networks has driven 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) using ETSI standards in recent years, it has shown there are viable alternatives methods to provide wide area communications between Control Rooms and the Incident Ground, providing group and individual communications.

Convergence of Broadband LTE and Narrowband DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) technology used by Fire Rescue Services is a real way forwards, which will enable Fire Rescue Services to adopt current and potential future implementation of digital communications for their operational procedures to develop.
