Keynote address: Cool technology for hot situations! AI and big data for a safer world

Michael Street, Founder and Lead of the Data Science Team at NATO Communications and Information Agency, provides insight into how digital technologies really do help to improve operations in security and public safety settings.

Drawing on his experience in military situations, and more recently from the conflict in Ukraine, Michael illustrates the vital role that technology has in enabling defence and law enforcement agencies to cooperate in multinational, potentially hostile environments.

He shows how AI and big data assist and improve decision making, helping teams to identify and visualise 'resilience'. And importantly, he also delves into how best to manage the risks and the associated hype of deploying new technologies into mission critical operational settings.
